Low stakes or high, the fee pays for the same thing: someone impartial deciding who's right, and making sure they get paid. Whether it's a friend across the table or a stranger you matched with for a game of chess, that's exactly where the fee earns its place.

Before you ask

Is this gambling?

No. Gambling is money on chance. Pakt is money on skill: your run time, your match result, your rating on the line. There is no house, and we never take a side.

What happens if a Challenge is canceled or voided?

The 5% fee is earned once both sides commit and the Challenge starts, not based on who wins. If a Challenge is canceled or can't be resolved, each person's stake is returned in proportion to what they put in, minus the fee already earned. If something goes wrong on Pakt's side or the payment partner's side, that fee is refunded too.

How much can I stake?

You set your own amount, and so does the other side. It doesn't have to match: the payout is simply the pot divided by what each side put in, so $100 against $100 pays 2x each, and $150 against $50 pays 1.33x and 4x. There's no house line, ever, just what you agree to risk against each other. There are limits in place to keep things sensible. Full details at signup.

Can I challenge more than one person?

Yes, group challenges work the same way: everyone agrees the terms, everyone stakes, and the result decides who's paid. We're still finalizing exactly how payouts split across a group before launch.

Where can I use it?

US only, 18+, and not every state at launch. Sign up and we'll tell you exactly whether your state is in the first wave.
